About me

I offer you a place of understanding, empathy and insight within tranquil garden surroundings. My practice is in a quiet village close to Bicester with easy, free parking.

You and the challenges you’re facing are unique. As an integrative counsellor, I work alongside you to create a bespoke personal therapy which addresses your needs and hopes. Are you ready to understand yourself better and gain insight and wisdom from exploring your feelings, thoughts and behaviours? Perhaps family issues or relationships problems are worrying you. Do want to know yourself better or heal and improve relationships with those around you?

I draw on different ways to explore emotions and self-awareness helping you to uncover how you relate to yourself, how you relate to your past and how you form relationships and relate to those around you.

This may involve: Timelines, Attachment wounds, Younger Self dialogue, Body Awareness and Breathwork to calm and reduce anxiety, Creative Experiment, Visualisation, Dreamwork and Storytelling.

From my experience of having counselling at different stages of my life - being ‘the client’ - I discovered that psychotherapy can be a profound and deeply transformative process. It brought meaning, self-wisdom and vitality into my life. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is one of the most powerful and effective ways to experience emotional healing, psychological wellbeing and personal growth.

After an undergraduate degree in Psychology and English, I developed a career in book publishing - commissioning authors and managing international educational publishing programmes. I’ve lived and worked in various countries either in education or the publishing sector. The creativity of story and illustration from my publishing work influences my therapy practice – offering clients creative ways to explore emotions and understand themselves more fully.

A helpful next step is to arrange a free, 15 minute intro call with me. Have you got questions - email me and I'll do my best to support you or point you in the right direction.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

ACC

The Association of Christian Counsellors and Linked Professions is a professional body representing and setting standards for Christian counselling and care in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
