About me

Searching for a counsellor may feel like a daunting experience. One of the biggest challenges can be knowing who to choose and what style of counselling to try – there are so many!

Most importantly, find a therapist who makes you feel at ease to enable you to explore your most private problems in a safe, non-judgemental way. Counselling is a wonderful opportunity to put yourself first, something we all have a right to do.

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist with a high standard of training in a variety of modalities (including person centred, systemic, psychodynamic and solution focused) enabling me to integrate my approach. This simply means that I am able to tailor the therapy to suit each individual client. I have been practicing for 15 years providing counselling to individuals and couples working with a range of issues such as bereavement, stress, depression, infertility, trauma, to name a few. I am not limited to one specific area of difficulty but I have undertaken additional training in subjects I am passionate about meaning that I specialise in the following areas:

  • Grief, loss, bereavement
  • Infertility
  • Fertility treatment (such as IVF, IUI, Surrogacy, Donor Treatment & Implications Counselling)
  • Relationships (individuals and couples)

I have private practices both in Leicestershire & London where I provide long and short term counselling and psychotherapy in person, online, or by telephone. This means that I can provide support to you wherever in the world you may be located.

I am also a registered infertility counsellor (AMBICA) which enables me to provide implications counselling sessions in line with HFEA guidelines. These are focused on exploring the impact of becoming a donor, or donor recipient, of eggs, sperm or embryos. I am also trained in working with known donation and surrogacy cases and can provide therapeutic support to surrogates and intended parents wanting to use surrogacy as a form of treatment. If you are unsure whether I can help you, please contact me and I’ll be glad to discuss your needs in more detail.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
