About me

Life events and experiences can sometimes create pain, confusion and sadness in our lives which can feel unbearable, leading to us struggling in everyday life. Often this can present as one issue e.g. Stress, Anxiety, Depression/Low-mood or Trauma, but sometimes it may just be that you recognise your are overwhelmed by everything. Sharing what troubles you, in a professional, safe and confidential setting, is a positive step towards improving your life. This could be something that is a new issue, or challenges that have bothered you for most of your life.  As a counsellor/psychotherapist, my role is to help you explore any thoughts, feelings or behaviours that are impacting you and your life; and to support you to make positive changes to work through these difficulties, in a way that suits you.

My integrative training and clinical experience enables me to work with adults and young people (15+) within a safe and ethical framework. This is in line with the BACP governing body and my accredited training.

Working as a Specialist Mentor, I support those with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, AD(H)D and ASD. Together we can explore your neurodiversity, how your diagnosis impacts you, identify goals and areas of your life you want to improve or change. My role is to help you identify any barriers that stop you from achieving your goals; establishing management strategies and developing skills to support you to make the changes you want in your life.

"We are all in this together and there is no therapist and no person immune to the inherent tragedies of existence." - Yalom

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
