About me

Hi. I'm a qualified integrative counsellor, and a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I have a private practice, this is based within Hitchin town, and it is a safe and confidential space to explore any issues you may be having.

I do realise that making the decision to see a counsellor can be a big step and quite a daunting experience, and it is totally understandable to feel nervous about it, I want to make this process as comfortable as possible for you, this is why I like to offer 10/15 initial calls for you to get some reassurance or from me if needed, and to answer any questions you may have.

I work with young people and adults. For many years I have worked with a range of presenting issues, some being anxiety, depression, negative self talk, low self-confidence, low self-esteem domestic violence, abuse, relationship issues, family issues, attachments, substance abuse, ADD, ADHD, bullying and cyber bullying and more

Being a integrative counsellor means that I work with the belief system, that there isn’t just one therapeutic approach that can help a client in all situations. Instead I take into account you as an individual and your circumstances, and use elements of different approaches to help you explore and cope with your problems. Some of the approaches I use are, Person- centered, psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, and creatively.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
