About me
Hi, I’m Emily — a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, passionate about supporting people with warmth, compassion and a genuine connection. I offer both online and face-to-face sessions. Based in Stoke-On-Trent.
I’ve been on both sides of the therapy room — as a client and also as a therapist and that experience is what inspired me to support others with their mental health and wellbeing. I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, supportive and real. Sometimes that means holding space for the painful and emotional stuff, and sometimes it means sharing a lighter moment, a laugh, or a relaxed chat. Above all, I want clients to feel heard, validated and like they truly have someone in their corner.
I work with people on a wide range of goals, difficulties and life experiences — no issue is ever too small or unimportant. Some of the areas I often support clients with include self-esteem, neurodiversity, loss and grief, depression, anxiety, self-discovery, and trauma. My main experience and specialism is with young people aged 16–30, though I’ve also work with many different age groups and welcome clients of any age over 16.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a variety of approaches rather than sticking to just one, so that our work together is flexible and tailored to you as a unique individual.
If you feel I might be the right fit for you, I’d love to hear from you ♥️

Experience
Alongside my private practice, I’ve worked in three different colleges and sixth forms, and I currently spend one day a week supporting students in education. I’ve been working therapeutically with young people (16–20) since 2021 and continue to do so, though I also enjoy supporting clients of all ages in my private practice.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I’m open to working with most goals and life experiences. I understand that many people come to therapy carrying a mix of things they’d like to explore, rather than one set issue — and that’s completely okay.
Below are some of the areas I most often work with at the moment, though this isn’t an exhaustive list. Throughout my career I’ve supported people with a wide variety of concerns, and I’m always open to discussing what you’d like to bring to therapy.
LGBTQIA+ experiences (including gender identity)
Anxiety and OCD
Neurodiversity
Young people
Self-esteem and confidence
Low mood and depression
Grief and loss
Self-discovery and general wellbeing
Stress
