About me
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling Practitioners (BACP) and follow their guidelines ensuring I provide an ethical and safe service. Following a holistic, person-centred approach my clients are at the centre of all the work I do.
Located close to the Swindon & Wiltshire History Centre 5 minutes’ walk from Chippenham Train Station, and 10 minutes’ walk from the Town Centre, ensures easy access to all who wish to use the service.
I provide counselling from home face-to-face, via telephone, or video call. I also offer home visits and ‘Walk & Talk’ counselling where counselling takes place on a pleasant and predefined route along the Avon Valley. Although I work primarily from home, I do offer a home visiting service in circumstances where this is required. This is available within a 10 mile radius of Chippenham and can be discussed at your initial enquiry.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

An appointment is 50 minutes and charges are as follows:

- Corporate Clients - Rates negotiable
Terms:
The following terms apply, these are also detailed in the counselling contract that you will sign following your initial assessment:
- Payment is upon completion of each session
- Acceptable methods of payment are cash, card, bank transfer
- Cancellation requires 24 hours notice
- Late cancellation will be charged at full rate

Initial Assessment
Our first session together is at a reduced rate of £30.00 and will last for 50 minutes. During this session we would discuss your aims and expectations of counselling, allowing us to start the process of developing a therapeutic relationship, and also to explore whether we believe we could work together successfully in addressing the issues you wish to bring.
The session would also provide the opportunity to bring any questions you may have concerning counselling; how it works and the processes involved. As well as more practical issues such as the contract between ourselves, payment methods, confidentiality, and boundaries.
