About me

Integrative Clinical Psychotherapist Reg (Accred) and EMDR Practitioner - Europe and UK

By valuing the relationship, my friendly approach is based on trust, where working collaboratively, will enable you to come to terms with issues you are experiencing, allowing for a better understanding. Working together at your pace, I will help you clarify your thoughts and feelings (for children I use creative play), enabling you to move confidently forward, away from unwanted patterns of behaviour, to find new ways of thinking and living a fulfilling life. My work supports adult, adolescent and child clients, from a diverse range of ethnic, social and cultural backgrounds.

I am a professionally experienced qualified integrative clinical psychotherapist and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) practitioner, where I draw on different techniques and models, from person-centred, existentialism, CBT, psychodynamic, EMDR, mindfulness, creative therapies including play and sand tray therapy, to be able to offer you a personalised and flexible way of working to your specific needs and difficulties.

EMDR is recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). EMDR is a powerful therapy that facilitates people to recover from issues that have been triggered by traumatic events. By reprocessing difficult memories, EMDR reduces distress and is especially known for treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, as well as a range of other mental health conditions.

My focus is to step into your unique world and understand what you are experiencing and help to establish a real sense of who you are. This is always in a safe and confidential space, where you will feel trusted and are neither judged nor forced to make a decision that is not right for you. For some clients, only a few sessions are required for results, for others, including complex trauma, therapy can take longer. Working integratively allows me to work with your individual needs, supporting many aspects of the human experience, ranging from anxiety, abuse (emotional, physical and sexual), depression and mood disturbance, trauma, self-esteem/confidence, childhood trauma, addiction, post traumatic stress disorder, anger management, obsessive compulsive disorder, relationship & family difficulties.

My clinical practice Open Therapies continuously endeavours to deepen my knowledge on therapeutic techniques. By undertaking various training courses, further develops my theoretical knowledge & understanding, enabling me to provide current and up-to-date therapy. Please feel free to get in touch, I offer a free 15min no obligation telephone consultation.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
