Michele

I am a qualified BACP registered Counsellor, specialising in working with children and young people. I also hold a qualification in Integrative counselling (Adults) and can assist adults in understanding their difficulties and help you reframe to improve well-being.

My passion to train as a counsellor began in 2014, I truly wanted to make a difference. I transitioned from working in schools as an emotional wellbeing assistant to gaining a diploma in integrative counselling(adults). I then decided to add to this qualification an additional qualification from Anglia Ruskin  specialising in child and adolescent counselling.

As a counsellor, I feel privileged to assist children, young people, and adults in overcoming the various difficulties they encounter in their lives Each individual presents a unique set of challenges, and it is both inspiring and fulfilling to guide them towards healing and self-discovery. Through active listening, empathy, and tailored therapeutic techniques, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can express their thoughts and feelings without judgment. It is my goal to empower clients to develop effective coping strategies, enhance their emotional resilience, and build a better understanding of themselves.

Jane

Jane SmithI have trained and worked as a therapist for nearly 10 years. Initially as a child, adolescent and adult counsellor then went on to study counselling and psychotherapy further. This expanded my experience further and my interest in working in other areas of therapy.

I work with children and young adults who are having difficulty managing the ups and downs of life whether it be a significant trauma or simply contending with day-to-day life such as school friendships or neuro diversity issues which can affect confidence and self-esteem.

I offer bereavement and loss therapy, either a loss of a loved one changes in life from divorce or employment friendships and the loss of a pet all of which can evoke the grieving process.

I am a qualified couples and relationship therapist. I work with the couple to explore, understand and communicate at a deeper level. Sometimes mediating sometimes facilitating and occasionally I’m the referee in a safe and supportive space.

Some of the types of therapy that we use to help our clients, include:

Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), creative therapy, expressive arts, integrative, person-centred, play therapy, sand play, trauma focused, somatic and structural family therapy.

We offer long term, open ended as well as short term therapy.

Both myself and Jane, alongside our private practice work, also work for a large charity, supporting children and young adults across a variety of settings. Thank you  for visiting our profile, and taking the first step in seeking support.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
