About me
Hi. Welcome to my page and taking time to visit my profile.
I appreciate there are times in your life, where you feel overwhelmed and struggle to cope. This maybe due to challenging life events, past and present. We can all experience feelings such as anxiety, depression, anger and fear. This may lead us to feel overawed, out of control and uncertain in our everyday lives. Feel assured you are not alone. Taking time out to consider and understand your thoughts, feelings and emotions can be crucial to your wellbeing.
It is important to be kind to yourself in order achieve fulfilling lives. I hope to support you with your difficulties, which will help your explore and guide you in utilising skills both old and new.
My background
I qualified as a person-centred integrative counsellor in June 2021 so am guided by the client needs and their goals. This approach helps the client feel listened to and promotes empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. Having a positive therapeutic relationship gives the person time to think in the here and now, consider experiences and clarify and explore personal issues and difficulties. An integrative way of working uses several approaches to deal with individual experiences and optimise therapeutic benefits.
I am warm, approachable, non-judgmental and uphold values which uphold confidentiality, trust and respect. I aim to enable and empower my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe manner.
Prior to training as a counsellor, I have vast and current experience in supporting those with mental and physical health problems. In addition, I also work with those with trauma in an informed way. This approach advocates a three-stage trauma informed process, involving stabilization, processing and combining skills gained throughout. I have gained invaluable experience working with clients with Post Traumatic Stress and Complex Post Traumatic Stress and work in a guided and safe manner with such challenges.
I am especially keen on specialising in working with individuals who maybe neurodivergant; as feel this a very topical area at this current time and very relatable.
Prior to qualifying as a counsellor, I spent invaluable time volunteering with clients who have experienced bereavement and loss, especially through the COVID- 19 pandemic.
I work as a sole professional practitioner on a part time basis on Thursdays and Fridays. Underthe premise of "Dragonfly counselling" I offer online, telephone and face to face and walking therapy.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
