About me

Let’s be honest — looking for a counsellor can feel weird.
It’s a bit like online dating, except instead of searching for "the one," you’re looking for someone who gets you, listens properly, and won’t make you cry into your tea (unless you want to — then tissues and a brew are ready).

I'm Alannah — a Pluralistic Counsellor, Brainspotting Practitioner, and fully signed-up member of the 'humans-trying-their-best' club.
I believe therapy shouldn’t feel scary, formal, or like something you have to "perform" at.
It should feel like a breath that's been released after being held in too long.
A space where you can be real, messy, proud, sad, confused, hilarious, and everything in between — all without judgment.

Sometimes we sit and talk. Sometimes we get creative. Sometimes we cry. Sometimes we laugh (because honestly, life can be utterly ridiculous).
The point is: it's your space. Your pace. Your voice.

You don’t need to be “broken” to come to therapy. You just need to be human.

What My Counselling Offers:

🧡 A calming space: just for you — to feel heard, supported, and understood.
🧡 Someone (that’s me!) who gently helps you access your true feelings without rushing or forcing.
🧡 Room to explore, process, heal, and grow in whatever way works best for you.
🧡 A consistently safe, steady presence — whether you need one session or many.
🧡 A strong cup of coffee (or hot chocolate!) — because small comforts matter.
🧡 Recognisable shifts: greater confidence, more autonomy, and a stronger connection to your voice.

Finding the Right Counsellor

I’ll always say this upfront: finding the right counsellor is so important.
Counselling is about connection, and let’s face it — not every human connects with every other human, and that’s okay.
I encourage you to explore different counsellors until you find someone who feels like a good fit. (And if that's me, I’d be genuinely honoured.)

The Official Bit:

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychological Interventions, I’m a registered member of the BACP and accredited registrant of NCPS. Additionally, I’m a qualified Brainspotting Practitioner. I am also fully insured, DBS checked and ICO registered,

What I'm Passionate About:

🌿 Anxiety and Stress Management
Anxiety can feel relentless — that constant hum (or roar) of worry that wears you down.
I support you in understanding your anxiety, calming your nervous system, and building practical, real-world strategies that fit your life — not just something that sounds good on paper.

🌿 Trauma and Emotional Healing
Past experiences, especially those from early life, can leave invisible bruises that still ache today.
In a safe, compassionate space, we work gently with those memories — helping you process the pain, reclaim your story, and loosen the grip old wounds can have on your present.

🌿 Self-Esteem and Confidence Building
How you see yourself shapes everything.
Together, we explore your strengths, challenge the old narratives that no longer serve you, and nurture a sense of self-worth that feels authentic, sturdy, and yours — not built on other people’s expectations.

🌿 Neurodiverse Inclusive Therapy
I offer a space where you don’t have to "mask," explain yourself endlessly, or feel squeezed into a box that doesn’t fit.
Whether you're newly exploring your neurodiversity or have known it for years, we work together to understand your needs, honour your identity, and support you in advocating for yourself.

🌿 Inner Child Therapy
We all carry younger versions of ourselves inside — the parts of us that learned to hide, shrink, or survive.
Through creative, compassionate techniques, we reconnect with these parts, offering the understanding, protection, and healing they always deserved.
Because you’re not just "moving on" — you’re moving with all the pieces of who you are.

If You've Made It This Far...

Then I'm genuinely chuffed — and maybe, just maybe, we’re already starting to connect.
If what you’ve read feels right to you, I’d love to hear from you.
No pressure. No awkward sales pitches. Just a simple, friendly conversation when you're ready.

You can reach me by call, text, email, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, or through my website whatever feels easiest.

Please note:

Due to the nature of my work, I’m often in sessions during the day and unable to answer calls directly.
If you call and I can't pick up, please do leave me a voicemail. I’ll always get back to you as soon as I can.

I'm here when you're ready.
