About me

Hello, my name is Tracy, I am a integrative counsellor. As an integrative counsellor, I believe there isn’t just one therapeutic approach that can help a client in all situations. Instead, i take into account you as an individual and your circumstances, and use elements of different approaches to help you explore and cope with your challenges.

I am licensed in the UK, I have experience in helping clients with ADHD. Stress and Anxiety, Trauma, Abuse, Depression and more. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

I have over 20 years of experience working with children and young adults with various needs such as, Gender Dysphoria, Attachment Disorder, Anger Management and Low Self Esteem to name a few.

I offer face to face counselling in the small town/village of North Petherton. Its important that when you attend a counselling session with me a comfortable, relaxing place to talk is available to you, which is why i have a dedicated room for counselling. Here you can be confident that our conversations are private and confidential.

Our First Meeting

During your first consultation with me it is important that you feel comfortable and safe.  We will review the contact/agreement between us where both parties are happy. Counselling sessions are all about you and how you would like to move forward.

We will make arrangements to meet weekly, usually on the same day and at the same time for a 50 minute session. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like more information.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Reviews and Feedback

I am looking forward to continuing my work with Tracy. She's an excellent therapist. I feel like it's easy for us to connect and in such a short time, she's made great leaps in understanding me and shedding light on things I need to look into. She shares relevant concepts in psychology and provides me with helpful resources, which help me grow and learn outside of our 50 mins per week. Tracy is so open-minded and accepting, making it easy to be myself. She has truly made me understand the value of therapy. Money spent on therapy with Tracy, is money well spent. Thank you Tracy! :)

Tracy is great therapist with incredible experience in supporting people with ADHD. She did help me a lot in last couple of months to better understand my ADHD and how to deal with it in everyday life. You won't be disappointed.

Tracy is really friendly and down to earth, she made me feel at ease straight away and I felt better after just one session with her. She really understands and I really appreciate her advice and professional help

Tracey is a very knowledgeable and a understanding therapist.

I couldn’t wish for a better therapist the conversation just flows. Thank-you Tracy

Extremely caring and supportive. I am so glad I have come across her and am gaining a lot so far.

Tracey is a very knowledgeable and understanding therapist. I think that she was very well matched to my needs.

It's incredible how much this therapy is helping me, Tracy is great :)

Tracy is a lovely person and a great therapist. She’s attentive empathetic and very professional. I enjoy our sessions.

I really appreciated Tracy’s patience and kindness, she is an absolute gem and I couldn’t have asked for more. She always made me smile. I’m so grateful for the sessions I had with her.

Tracy has been fantastic for me going through some difficult situations. She is compassionate, straight-talking and adaptable depending on your needs. She has a sense of humour and you will likely quickly warm to her. She is experienced and clearly has the ability to use a variety of different therapeutic techniques to help with your situation. I couldn't recommend her enough. She has given me clarity and perspective on issues which have felt overwhelming before.

Tracey has made me feel better when I was at a very low ebb in my life.
I haven't sought therapy before, so was a bit apprehensive, Tracey made me feel at ease from the get go, and I found it very easy to open up to her which has helped me and is continuing to help me greatly. I would highly recommend Tracey Sharman

Talking things through with Tracy lets me let out my thoughts and concerns and make connections to what's creating difficulty for me. We've been discussing how to manage it and I'm interested to learn more tools that might help me manage my thoughts more regularly
