About me

I am Sarah, a warm, friendly, and compassionate counsellor dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages through life's challenges with a commitment to providing a safe and non-judgmental environment.

I work with students, children, and adults in various life stages giving a safe space and time to explore difficult thoughts and feelings which are present for you.

I am able to work with you as you navigate feelings around anxiety, depression, bereavement, grief and loss, loneliness, divorce or separation, exam stress, anger, self-esteem and more.

I currently offer online video and telephone appointments, allowing you the freedom of being able to have your sessions at a time convenient to you without the need to travel.

If you have read this far and are wondering if I am able to help you with what has brought you to a place of looking for a counsellor, please get in touch to arrange a consultation, and see if I am the therapist to join you on your journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience in dealing with:

Abuse, Addictions, AIDS/HIV, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, LGBTQ+ counselling, Life coaching, Loss, Menopause, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Service veterans, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues

I combine my Person-Centered approach with integrative tools tailored to what you are hoping to achieve from therapy. This means you will always be in control of where your sessions go, how deep you would like to explore or how much you would like to stay on the surface. We will work to your agenda to work towards you gaining the best experience from our time together.

As your counsellor, I would offer you warmth and compassion and the freedom to explore what feels important for you in as much depth as you need without following any other agenda but your own. There will be no obligation for you to pick up from the week before, if something has come up for you that feels present and of importance, you would be welcome to bring it into the safe space we create for you together.

Life can present daunting challenges, and my approach is grounded in empathy without judgement, creating a space where you can express yourself openly and honestly at a pace that works for you.

Together, we will build a therapeutic relationship based on a sense of security and trust.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
