About me

My aim is to make your therapeutic journey positive, meaningful, safe experience. I can work with the whole family or with different combinations of family members, couples, siblings or individuals.

I take pride in the feedback that I have received from families, couples and individuals who have described me as a calm, empathetic listener and a respectful, non-judgemental therapist whom they could trust with their deepest thoughts, feelings and anxieties. Supporting them to make positive change in their lives.

The  Systemic Therapy Approach.

I practice Systemic Therapy, which is a talking therapy, our conversations may uncover new perspectives of the life experiences that have shaped you, giving you a new understanding about the problems that you are holding. I believe that Systemic Psychotherapy helps us to make sense of how families or societal systems function.  Systemic psychotherapists are non – blaming and see the problem as being created in the relationships between people (often in a family) rather than being located “inside” any one person. Systemic psychotherapy looks to identify your strengths, what has been working and what presently is not working. This self reflection can help to facilitate change, supportive communication, understanding and collaboration between family members enabling solutions to the problem. It can ennable the individual to find new ways to manage difficult stressful situations and to look  at the problem with a different perspective enabling you to manage it more effectively.

Family Therapy

I am trained to feel comfortable and work with groups of people - couples and different combinations of family or friendship groups. Working with the family I am skilled at finding techniques  that members find are comfortabe with and find helpful in supporting them to develop supportive communication.

Individuals

I do have many individual clients and offer a calm, safe, environment to support individuals to have time to reflect and choose positive pathways forward in their lives, learning to manage difficult feelings.

Working with young people.

I am specialised in Child Focused Family Therapy and I  can work to build a trusting, respectful, therapeutic relationship. I do this using a variety of skilled playful and creative therapeutic techniques to support and engage children/young people to explore their serious problems and big emotions. I safely  support children and young people them to face their fears, anxieties and understand how to navigate through their difficulties enabling them to  manage, regulate and understand their emotions.
