About me
Hello, I'm Rebecca Rose and a warm welcome to you. Taking the first step and looking for a therapist is courageous and can also feel daunting. As a compassionate and dedicated counsellor I offer a free 15 minute discovery call to identify if I am the right therapist for you. Finding the right support allows you to feel comfortable and safe, to explore and process your difficulties, emotions and experiences at your own pace.
I'm aware that even when feeling lost or not quite ourselves, we are all unique and you know yourself better than anyone else. My focus is to work collaboratively with you, to gain an understanding of your experiences, thoughts and feelings from your perspective, in order to support you towards a place of acceptance and peace.
I believe the strength of the therapeutic relationship greatly impacts the effectiveness of therapy. I provide a welcoming, respectful and calm environment and work empathically, without judgment to facilitate trust, and a genuine therapeutic relationship that encourages open communication. During our confidential sessions you are welcomed to discuss the big things, the small things and anything in between.

Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a person centred humanistic counsellor and integrate various therapy techniques based on what you would like to gain from our time together. I have experience working privately, for local counselling agencies, in the primary care sector within the NHS and I've supported individuals on mental health wards. My professional experiences have allowed me to diversify my therapeutic skills and hone these, to effectively support a wide range of clients.
Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Psychology, Registered Member MBACP, L2 Counselling Skills, L3 Counselling Studies, L4 Therapeutic Counselling Diploma, GradCert LICBT ongoing.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Availability:
I offer face to face sessions in Falmouth and Truro as well as Online. I am currently able to offer weekday and some weekday evening sessions. I also offer some Saturday sessions by prior appointment only.
