About me

Hello...

I am a registered BACP integrative psychotherapist. Working integratively means I can utilise an extensive range of approaches to support you with the issues you are struggling with, ensuring my work is tailored to meet your unique needs.

Testimonial by SH:
'Mou,
It has been a long time since…our last session, but I still remember everything we talked about... I wanted to give a huge thank you for the life-changing work you do.
I feel better, my relationships, work and home life have improved... Truly, I can't thank you enough and I'll keep that all with me forever.'

MY APPROACH

You are in very capable hands. I am warm in approach and will take you very seriously, thoughtfully, skilfully and add humour, when appropriate in our work together.

Having therapy with me is an opportunity for you to express yourself with someone who isn’t going to judge you. Allow you the space to explore without you having to look after my feelings. Having a place where you can start to connect with what you need. To make sense of what’s causing you pain and discomfort. This process of expressing yourself in therapy with me can be priceless, liberating and transforming.

AREAS OF EXPERIENCE

My particular areas of experience are with clients who suffer from Anxiety and Stress, Addictions, ADHD, Bereavement, Body Image, Behaviour Change, Childhood Impact, Cancer, Chronic Health Conditions, Crossroads in life, Depression, Family Issues, Loneliness, Low Mood, Low Self Esteem, Negative Thought Patterns, Suicidal thoughts, Systems Of Oppression, Relationships and Traumatic Events.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
- PLANTING SEEDS FOR CHANGE…TO THRIVE…NOT JUST TO SURVIVE

As a brown woman, I have faced many adversities in our institutional systems from childhood into adulthood. Psychotherapy was a life line for me, it has allowed me to not only to come to terms with living in this world, but more than that, to thrive.

Before becoming a therapist, I trained in Education and then moved into the Charity Sector, supporting others to be seen, heard, understood and met.
I transitioned into becoming a therapist, never looking back. It is such a great privilege to in turn help my clients to make sense of their world and thrive too.

TESTIMONIAL by FS :

'I believe in life that some things are meant to be, and I was meant to find Mou... Her nurturing and patience have helped me to improve my emotional wellness and given me…confidence... Her collaborative approach and understanding has definitely helped me to get the most out of…therapy.'

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
