About me

Hi, my name is Louise and I am a qualified Integrative counsellor and I am a member of the BACP . I am a kind, warm, caring and compassionate person who is easy to talk to and a great listener. I have experience dealing successfully with a wide range of issues including anxiety, bereavement, depression, self-harm, suicide and suicidal thoughts and feelings of low self-esteem, self-worth and general feelings of low mood. Whatever brings you to counselling I can offer you a safe space to talk without any feelings of being judged or being told what to do, and we will always work at a pace which is best suited to you and your individual needs.

But what can you expect from counselling? Is counselling right for you? If you are reading this you have already made that first step, so here's a little bit about what you can expect, how the counselling relationship works and what kind of counselling I can offer. I am an integrative counsellor which means I work from a number of different counselling styles, finding a way of working with you that best fits you. Our first few sessions will be spent looking at the issues that have brought you to counselling, looking at how they are impacting your life, and building our counselling relationship. This will all be done at a pace which suits you, without any feelings of judgement or taking away from your own self-experience. With you, and your emotional safety at the heart of the work we will do together.

I can offer short term solution based counselling, help dealing with the here and now issues, or longer more in-depth counselling. Whatever you are seeking help with, whether that be issues from the past or in the present, together we will find a way where you will be able to manage and deal with them and I hope this will give you the chance and clarity to be able to move forwards in your life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
