About me

I understand fully how life throws it's challenges at us and how difficult it can be, not only to cope with those challenges but also understand why they are happening and how to find a way through them. In a world where there are a lot of expectations placed on us to perform well, no matter what is happening in our lives, I feel it is so important to have the right source of support, help and safe space where we can talk, allow emotions to flow and know we are not alone and there is a way forward. Our problems are not the end of us but we can sometimes feel they are. We feel a sense of loneliness, helplessness and get so overwhelmed with it all, it can often cause us to freeze, which only adds to feeling of not coping, thus, self-esteem and confidence taking even more of a beating. Whether it is a past, present or future problem, I am here to support you, work through things with you and find ways to cope and move forward with your life. I offer a safe, non-judgemental listening space, I am a professional member of the BACP and have been a qualified Integrative Counsellor for 13 years. I have worked with both children and adults, in the private and public sector.

Being that I work integratively, I will ensure we work together in a way that is suited to you as a person and also your needs depending on the presenting issue. If there are changes or new methods you wish to try while we are working together I am very happy to honour them and restructure our time together.

I work with a range of issues, such as anxiety, low self-esteem, low confidence, sexuality, abuse of all kinds, depression, relationship related issues, self-harm, sadness, work related stress/issues, eating disorders and trauma to name a few.

Please feel free to get in touch to book in an initial free consultation with me where we can discuss your concerns, needs and see whether or not the therapy seems right for you.

After this, sessions last 60 minutes, at the fee of £55.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
