About me

Hi, I’m Kristina 🌻

I’m a neurodivergent therapist offering compassionate, trauma-informed counselling for adults, young people, and couples.

I’m a qualified, accredited counsellor and clinical supervisor with a background in psychology and mental health. As an ethical practitioner, I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and I am currently completing my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy (DCPsych) with trainee registration with UKCP.

My work with clients is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. Clients often describe me as warm, down-to-earth, and thoughtful. I offer weekly online and in-person sessions across the UK.

💛 My Specialisms

I support neurodivergent individuals and trauma survivors to make sense of their experiences, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with more clarity and self-trust.

I work particularly well with clients who:

✨ Are autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent (diagnosed or self-identifying)
✨ Grew up in toxic, chaotic, emotionally unsafe, or unpredictable families
✨ Experienced childhood abuse, neglect, criticism, or emotional invalidation
✨ Are estranged from family, considering low contact, or managing complex family dynamics
✨ Have lived through coercive control, domestic abuse, or post-separation abuse
✨ Feel chronically overwhelmed, disconnected, burnt out, or “too much”
✨ Are exploring identity, masking, or recovery from gaslighting
✨ Are parenting a neurodivergent child, a child with additional needs, or a fostered child

🌀 My Approach

I believe healing grows through safety, connection, and curiosity.

Many struggles in adult life, such as anxiety, people-pleasing, low self-worth, emotional dysregulation, or feeling stuck, can often be understood as patterns that once helped us survive difficult experiences. Therapy can help you honour those protective parts while gently building new ways of coping that fit the life you want now.

I work integratively, drawing from:

✨ CBT (3rd wave, relational)
✨ Humanistic Person-Centred
✨ Psychodynamic ideas
✨ Trauma-informed principles
✨ Emotional literacy work
✨ Mindfulness
✨ Inner child work
✨ Polyvagal theory
✨ Somatic & creative approaches

I adapt therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit one model. We work at a pace that feels manageable, respectful, and real.

My practice is anti-oppressive, inclusive, and affirming of difference in all its forms. I value dignity, autonomy, and the importance of your lived experience, and I aim to offer a space where you feel respected, safe, and able to be fully yourself.

I won’t tell you who you are or what decisions to make. Instead, we work together to understand your experiences and help you move towards the life you want.

🌿 Therapy Can Help You To

✨ Reconnect with your body and emotions
✨ Understand your nervous system responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn)
✨ Reduce shame and self-blame
✨ Build self-trust and inner safety
✨ Develop clearer boundaries
✨ Feel more regulated and less overwhelmed
✨ Explore new ways of living with autonomy and confidence

🧠 Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy

My practice is explicitly affirming of neurodivergent identity and difference. I work in ways that consider sensory needs, communication preferences, energy levels, processing styles, and the impact of living in systems that may not always have understood you.

Sessions are flexible, collaborative, and adapted around what accessibility and regulation look like for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
