About me
I offer a warm, confidential space for you to unpack any troubles you feel you may have. This space is yours to move at your own pace, with me alongside you, listening and supporting, using a Trauma informed approach, for your safety.
There will be no judgement and I will listen empathically to what is going on in your world, seeing things from your perspective.
We will work together and navigate your path to gain more clarity where it is needed, whilst perhaps learning new ways of coping. I will endeavour to help you to have a better understanding of yourself and others, but you will ultimately be in charge.
This in turn will create a greater sense of yourself, and a wholeness that you deserve whilst taking this step.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I have a big interest in how the body and the mind are connected, and what our nervous system has learnt through life. I feel the nervous system plays a extreme part in our make up and health, and I like to check how this is for you through our sessions. I may check in with how your body is feeling, and there may be reactions and changes on a physical level whilst you are sharing your story. I invite you to notice these, but only if you are feeling safe to do so.
We think how we feel often, but do we really feel the connection in our body?
This can be a huge messenger to you, and to me, about where you are in your journey.
Alongside this, I like to use psychoeducation around the Brain and the ANS (Autonomic nervous system) and polyvagal theory. I believe that if we can understand how our body works and why, we can manage and notice patterns, to minimise, control and accept the uncomfortable parts of us. This is important for recovery, growth and awareness and especially reconnecting the mind with the body.
The main take away being, that our nervous system, and brain is doing what it should, trying to keep us safe, but sometimes it can get overwhelmed and needs a little help to feel safer again.
Curiosity, safety and compassion always.
