About me

I am warm and compassionate and am trained in the humanistic approach.  I work with individuals and couples over 16 years of age, both in person and online.

I will work with you using the person-centred approach, which means that I don't give advice or tell you what to do and that you choose what we explore and the pace at which we work.

I believe that therapeutic relationship between us is the most important factor in our working together; counselling with me will offer you a  non-judgemental  and welcoming space where you can explore and make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.  My hope is that this enables you to gain a greater understanding and awareness of yourself, your relationships with others and the difficulties you experience.  This then offers you more choices about your future and how you live your life.

I have a depth of experience in working with people who are experiencing a wide range of difficulties. These include anxiety or depression (low mood), low self-esteem, or lack of self-belief; relationship difficulties; feeling overwhelmed; feeling misunderstood or feeling that you don’t fit in or belong.

I appreciate that finding the right counsellor can be daunting and I offer a free initial meeting where you can ask any questions and we can decide if we wish to work together.   If you feel I might be able to help, you can contact me by phone or email.

I offer long and short-term therapy and can offer sessions in person or online  by video call  (Google Meets).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
