About me
I’m Julie, a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor; here to offer you a warm safe and in-depth service, designed to select what is best suited for your needs. Together we can work on what is happening for you and create a personalised toolbox to help you move forward to a more fulfilling, meaningful life.
I work with clients who may be struggling with issues, depression, anxiety or trauma related to their relationships, family or past. During our sessions, we will delve collaboratively into the issues at hand and work together to address them, helping you get your life back. Most of my clients see a lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustainable continued improvement thereafter.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a pluralistic practitioner. I am trained in all the different approaches to counselling. This means I can offer you a personalised, specific counselling experience, which allows you to reflect on what is happening to you and in turn, by making your own choices and understanding your thoughts, consider alternatives.
I have additional qualifications and experience in relationship/couples counselling, bereavement counselling, hypnotherapy, domestic violence/bullying in the workplace.
I use psychological theory and up to date research in therapeutic work to help my clients with a variety of problems. These problems can include (but are not limited to) anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, addiction, self-esteem, trauma, difficult life issues and mental health conditions. I often work creatively with clients, which helps to visualise and understand your issues. I also draw on Cognitive Behavioural therapy looking at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. I use Psychodynamic methods to look at your past and its effects on you now. During treatment, we learn how to use these tools to promote change for the better.
