About me

Marble Therapy Services

Marble Therapy Services is a mental health service just outside Hartlepool in Dalton Piercy, close to the A19.
Specialising in Trauma and Attachment Therapy, Equine Assisted Therapy and Domestic Abuse and Sexual Harm Therapy. For young people, adults and families who may have experienced, but not limited to, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, domestic abuse and violence, sexual harm and substance misuse.

Our Services
Attachment and Trauma Therapy.
Attachment and Trauma therapy works Dyadically with families to rebuild the attachment relationship.

Therapeutic parenting is provided in order to educate parents on the PACE model with the young person. Psychoeducation is provided to parents to help them understand their child's early history and the impact this may have on their attachment style.
Attachment and Trauma therapy also focuses on the young person’s attachment style and the understanding of relationships and the communication and interaction between the parent and child. This allows the therapist to assess the barriers in the relationships and the impact the young person’s ability to internalise safety in the parent child relationship. Using the three R Model the therapist seeks to support the young person in re-experiencing, by building attachment, trust and stability. Reprocessing of the automatic nervous system and the overwhelming fight flight and freeze response and resolution by processing early childhood trauma and addressing healthy relationships.

Equine Asisted Therapy.
Equine aѕіѕtеd therapy іnсоrроrаtеѕ hоrѕеѕ іntо thе thеrареutіс process to promote emotional growth and learning. The clients may engage іn activities ѕuсh as grооmіng, fееdіng, handling observing the herd and riding while developing ѕkіllѕ ѕuсh аѕ emotional, self-regulation, self-confidence, аnd rеѕроnѕіbіlіtу.
The relationship between the horse and young person can provide not only an insight into attachment but facilitates growth and understanding of behaviours, building on trust and stability, while  supporting the Automatic Nervous System in reprocessing and recovering from the over whelming fight fight freeze response and processing early trauma. Equine therapy  can assist in re building healthier relationships within the family, build on attachment and trust.
No experience with horses is required from the client, in fact you don't have to touch the horse at all, just being around horses and ponies provides a safe and calming outdoor environment to engage in therapy allowing the client to identify and process emotional issues more freely.

DASH Model -Domestic Abuse and Sexual Harm Therapy.
Domestic Abuse and Sexual Harm Therapy is delivered using the DASH Model, our trauma informed model of psychoeducation and attachment for adults and young people who have experienced harm or exhibited harmful behaviours towards others.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
