About me
I do not underestimate how daunting it can be to accept that change or a reboot is needed in our mental health and to take those first tentative steps to find a counsellor, with whom you can feel safe. Perhaps, in reading this, you're taking that first step.
I have 6 years' of bereavement (including children) counselling experience with a well-known national charity and am a qualified (Dip.Couns) and registered Member of the BACP (MBACP). I offer 1:1 sessions in person from the comfort of my tranquil garden studio in Cheam, Sutton, Surrey (8 minutes walk from Sutton BR & Grove Road bus station) or online if preferred. I cover Epsom, Banstead, Kingswood, Carshalton, Wallington, Merton, Wimbledon; Kingston and wider SW London & Surrey environs. Parking is available.
My modality is Integrative, allowing me to simultaneously draw down on different aspects of person-centred; psychodynamic; attachment; relational and transactional theories responding to how and when your material emerges. Often the presenting issues can be complex; layered interwoven & constantly evolving. At times it can feel hopeless or overwhelming.
My role is to be a constant, consistent, non-judgemental; unbiased companion to your lived experience: validating and normalising your thoughts and feelings. Real, lasting change is catalysed by helping you see more clearly any repeating patterns or 'scripts'. Work is always client-led and can be short, medium or longer term; in person or online; depending on your readiness and preference.
I am insured and abide by the BACP's Ethical Framework; adhering to Supervision & CPD expectations to keep my practice professional & proficient.

Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a registered Member of the BACP (MBACP) & am a fully qualified and insured Integrative counsellor, (Dip. Couns) pursuant to the Petruska Clarkson relational model.
The therapeutic relationship is a uniquely dynamic space between Counsellor and Client, with my role being to provide a non-judgmental, safe, confidential space in which you can be guided to very carefully explore what's going on for you right now, including how your past may be impacting your present and future. With empathy, compassion and -when ready- even gentle challenge, my aim is to assist you empowering yourself by learning how to help; understand; accept; forgive and love yourself.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
