About me
I am an experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Supervisor registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
I provide short and long-term therapy for adults either face to face at my home in Walsham-Le-Willows or online.
I can help with any psychological or emotional issue you may be experiencing. Many of my clients come for help with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, work related stress, loss and bereavement etc.
My counselling approach recognises and prizes the uniqueness of each of us. The idea that therapy can be undertaken using a 'template' is one that I do not adhere to. Each client has different life experiences, needs and hopes and I aim to fully understand each client's unique experience and distress and in that understanding, facilitate change.
For many people, I believe their distress and unhappiness is not caused by the person's internal process but rather by the messages and signals directed at them and the events they encounter in life. I don't ask 'What is wrong with you?' but rather 'What has happened to you?'
I believe we are thoroughly relational beings (as are all things in the natural world) and our wellbeing is fundamentally determined by the nature of our relationships. In my experience, many clients distress is of a relational nature ie lack of relationship, separation, conflict with family members, bullying or abuse and the ultimate relational trauma, death of a loved one.
At its core, counselling is a relationship of two people coming together to enable change through connection.
Training, qualifications & experience
I started my counselling training in 2008 when I began a two year Integrative counselling course at West Suffolk College. I then joined Matrix College of Counselling and Psychotherapy and completed a further two years of training and obtained my BSC (Hons) degree in 2015. In 2019 I joined the Sherwood Psychotherapy Institute in Nottingham to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision.
I have trained as an Integrative Counsellor which means that my training covered all the main counselling approaches ie Person centred, Psychodynamic and CBT. I am able to draw upon a broad range of skills and knowledge in order to meet the needs of each individual client.
I have worked as a counsellor with clients since 2012, initially for Suffolk Mind in Bury St Edmunds and for the past eight years in private practice.
Qualifications
- BSC (Hons) In Integrative Counselling (2015) Middlesex University via Matrix College of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision (2019).

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
