About me

Hi, I'm Dani and I run 'A Life Well Lived' counselling in Rustington near Littlehampton, West Sussex. I offer space to talk so you can work through your difficulties in complete confidence.

'A Life Well Lived' is based in coastal West Sussex and is a private counselling service supporting adults (18+) and older adults.

I offer in-person, online and telephone counselling with flexible appointments during the daytime, evening and weekends, so you can choose the right support for you.

Life can feel a struggle at times and can leave us feeling isolated and alone. Perhaps you’re experiencing a loss of hope, or that there is nothing to look forward to? When things keep going wrong it can be hard to trust ourselves and we can begin to doubt our own experiences, not believing we know what’s best for us. As a counsellor I have a deep respect for the life story of my clients. I believe that with the right support, you can get back to feeling like yourself again, living a meaningful and fulfilled life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling from Chichester University and I'm a registered member of the BACP (MBACP).

Alongside my private practice, I work as an online therapist for 'Better Help', I'm a volunteer counsellor for Cruse Bereavement Support and I'm currently taking my doctorate in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling at Middlesex University, (An Accredited UKCP Psychotherapy training).

I'm passionate about what I do. Before becoming a therapist, I worked for many years in the corporate world, I have MSc and BA(Hons) degrees in Information System and International Business Administration. I understand the difficulties of a high-pressure work environment and have a particular interest in workplace issues such as long-term sick leave, chronic pain, workplace politics, bullying and redundancy.

I have additional training and experience of bereavement and loss, including bereavement by suicide and road death.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
