About me

Hello. My name is Claire and I am an integrative counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I offer integrative counselling. This form of therapy is a combination of different psychological theories and therapeutic approaches, which can be tailor-made depending on your needs and way of working. I work to offer clients a safe, confidential, non-judgmental, and empathic environment so to speak freely about their presenting problems and work to overcome difficult obstacles in their life (whether past, present or future).

Below is a list of various therapies I can offer. Keep in mind, these therapies can be combined.

  • Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Solution-Focused Therapy (SFP)
  • Person-Centred Therapy (PCT)

All interactions within counselling, including the scheduling of your appointments, attendance at appointments, the content of your sessions, progress in counselling, and your records are kept confidential in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

I provide in person sessions at the Willow Herbal Centre (Harold wood), as well as sessions via Zoom, Skype and telephone.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a BA (Hons) certificate in Integrative Counselling and have worked voluntarily in agency practice for two years.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
