About me

Life can have a way of not working how you would like it to, you can stay stuck and repeat old conditioned patterns of behaviour hard-wired in the sub-conscious, old scripts of low self-worth, mental filtering and hyper focusing, not being good enough. The external self along with the internal critic becomes your norm. You may not realise or recognise that you are always making the past your present, making predictions for the future, I understand this and recognise how your life story is so important for the change you are seeking. I don’t judge, label or distort your reality, I work from your own frame of reference, your life story is important to me.  You have grown up but can still be stuck in childhood ways of emotionally relating to your internal and external world.

I have an extensive 24-year skill set. I work collaboratively and mindfully with you to get the changes you want. I work with unconscious motives, scripts and your self-limiting belief systems. I run a workable counselling/psychotherapy programme for you, either short term solution focused or long-term therapy with aims to get you the best results for your emotional/mental health and wellbeing.

When your internal self is realised and allowed a voice the external falls into place to match it, harmony and balance becomes your norm. I also believe we are not controlled or fixed by our genes, an old Darwinian science. I work with Epigenetics, that genes have a biological tendency for expression. They are not fixed. Changing our state of consciousness can influence or change completely our internal and external environment.

Life does not need to be falling apart or become so unbearable to seek psychotherapy and counselling with me. Many clients seek out counselling with me to repair emotional blocks and build emotional intelligence. Many of my clients have well paid successful careers, and realise some how they are sabotaging their successes and relationship with themselves and others. Life is not as fulfilled as they would like it to be. Some clients come into therapy with me because they are consumed with past childhood trauma, stress, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, compulsions, depression or ill health. The body never lies.  I am experienced in all these issues. I also use EMDR and nutritional therapy for mental health within the counselling/psychotherapy package.  These are optional, if required.

If money is a consideration, do not let this deter you into coming in to counselling/psychotherapy with me.  I try to be assessable to nearly everyone.  After you have completed your 7 weekly base sessions you are welcome to have sessions once a fortnight.  This makes counselling and psychotherapy with me very affordable.

70% of my client work comes from past client referrals, or third parties that have heard of me through others.

My skill-set specialises in treating anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, trauma, PTSD, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, childhood trauma and abuse, victims of personality disorder relationships, eating disorders, body distortion image, family problems and parent alienation, addictions, long term chronic illness, self-harm. I see individuals, couples and families for therapy. I also work with perpetrators of domestic violence, the cycle of abuse.

I also have a background in nutrition for mental/emotion health and am aware that certain mental health conditions can be nutrition related especially anxiety and depressive related issues, OCD and addictions. Although this is now recognised in some NHS settings it has not filtered through the system. The norm is to not recognise it, even though it is science backed. I offer personal therapy counselling and nutrition for issues around weight.

I also offer short term solution focused therapy (12 weeks) using solution focused psychotherapy and EMDR. You are invited to attend a monthly session thereafter to remain at base.  EMDR helps unblock emotional trauma stored in the amygdala part of our brain. The primitive fight, flight or freeze. We work towards rest, digest and restore. This brings about the changes you want in the shortest possible time. It is especially valuable for emotional traumatisation which leads to blocks in our sub-conscious that in normal circumstances would be difficult to access.

I welcome couples for therapy and family therapy.

I also welcome clients with long term chronic ill health issues.  These issues have a way of changing how the brain processes things.  It has normalised long term sick.

I also welcome clients with addictions, getting to the real root of the issue. You do not have to be abstaining to access these sessions and benefit, but you do need to make sure you are not under the influence when you attend sessions.

Since lockdown I have moved completely over to zoom or telephone, I am experienced in these mediums.  It has made it more accessible to my London clients, countrywide and international clients.

I am experienced in working with court orders and parent alienation I can also provide you with a report if you need one.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
