About me

I am an integrative counsellor with more than twenty years experience as a therapist. I work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, shock, bereavement and relationship problems, etc.

I also have experience working with low self esteem, abuse, anger management, sexual abuse, childhood trauma and much more. I am constantly in awe of our human capacity for health and a deeper sense of well being, despite the experience life has challenged us with. I offer you a supportive space to be heard, enabling you to feel comfortable exploring areas of life that are challenging and difficult.

The first few sessions will concentrate on you having space to feel heard and establish a working relationship which provides safety and respect. We will discuss how we will work with what you are bringing and then aim to review at six weeks.

My main modalities are counselling and Craniosacral therapy, which includes deep psychological exploration and healing as well as physical release and relief.

I love being a counsellor and am constantly humbled by the human capacity for orientation towards health and a deeper sense of well being. Together, through a relationship based on compassion and honesty, we explore the fundamental issues that have led you to seek support.

As an integrative counsellor I draw from many modalities, but I always keep the relationship at the heart of my practice.

I have experience using the creative arts, gestalt practices, attachment based exploration, transpersonal, but the heart of my practice is person centred, which means that I am guided by what you need at any given time.

I am qualified to work with people from the age of eleven years upwards.

I work with long term counselling, as well as short term more solution based support in Exeter and Crediton, Devon and online, and I offer a compassionate and safe space for you to be heard and supported.

As well as my years of professional experience I have a wealth of life experience that I have worked with and draw upon in my practice.

Please call or email me for a free 15 minute consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
