About me

I am an accredited counsellor and registered with BACP. I hold a degree in BA (Hons) in Counselling, with a diploma in Psychology. I am an integrative counsellor, meaning that I draw from a range of approaches, including person‐centred, psychodynamic, integrative, and humanistic approaches, depending on the needs of the client. At the moment, I am working with adults, using the psychodynamic approach.

You may be seeking someone to talk to because you feel anxious, depressed, stressed, lonely, lost, confused, or have low self-esteem. It might be that you are looking for a space to reflect on your life such as your work, study, and relationships.

I offer a warm and honest therapeutic relationship and use my experience to work with you and understand what you may be experiencing, such as unpleasant thoughts and feelings, which could be linked to your past.

I have experience working with people with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, homelessness, bereavement, sexuality, chronic stress, anger management, HIV, nightmares, self-doubt, and difficulties in relationships with others. Moreover, I speak Amharic, Arabic, Tigrinya, as well as English.

Furthermore, I have personal experience being a client and know how it feels to be sitting in both chairs. I also know how important it is to find a counsellor that you can trust to share your issues.

If you are reading this, perhaps you recognise the importance of having a safe place to talk and you are ready to start receiving counselling.

I provide counselling, for individuals who are seeking a confidential space to share their thoughts and feelings and gain clarity in whatever is troubling them. I offer short-term counselling, of between 6 to 12 sessions, for 50 minutes every week and long–term.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
