About me

I offer a safe space to talk about anything which may be of concern in your life, which we can then explore at your own pace, to make sense of things, resolve difficult feelings and make positive change. It can sometimes be difficult to talk to family and friends, and having someone to listen without judgement can make all the difference. Counselling can also help us to understand how the past has affected our present life and relationships, helping us to connect to who we really are and to be happier as our true self, which is our human birthright. Counselling can also enable a secure attachment which can help to heal past wounds.

I have worked in a GP surgery, privately, with Agencies like Mindwise and RCN, and abroad, with young people and adults, helping with issues such as anxiety/panic, depression, abuse, trauma, relationship problems etc. As an integrative counsellor, I offer a range of therapies, short and long-term, depending on need and preference, with people of all ethnic origins.

I work towards holistic healing with Western psychotherapy techniques, which where desired, I might combine with Eastern techniques for balancing the energy system to help release old blockages, past traumas, as well as tackling current difficulties and negative beliefs using skills and strategies to become more calm, less stressed, more hopeful and better able to enjoy life to the full.

I believe the relationship between client and therapist is of utmost importance in any therapeutic work, and I will work collaboratively in a way that benefits you. We will explore what it is that you would like to achieve in counselling and work to your agenda. Let's talk via a call/message, or meet for a session to assess our suitability to work together.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I work with clients who may be struggling with anxiety and stress or depression, or trauma, often related to relationships or family. Initially we would deeply examine your issues, and together make a plan to address them in various ways that help you get your life back on track. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms after several sessions and then sustained improvement thereafter.
