About me

My name is Anna. I retrained as an Integrative Counsellor, having experienced for myself, how transformative counselling was on my own personal journey.

Life can be hard, and I will walk alongside you as you navigate feelings such as fear, confusion, shock, shame, rejection, grief, anger, and sadness.  I will support your therapeutic journey within an empathetic, authentic, non-judgemental, safe space. I work collaboratively and will help you find a deeper understanding of how you think and how to process the parts of life that are hard for you right now.

My experience and training will ensure I can support you through:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Intrusive thoughts and OCD
  • Reframing your thoughts around the end of relationships
  • Becoming empowered, strong and in charge of your future
  • Recognising you can’t change or fix others
  • The impact of the ‘drama triangle’ on relationships
  • Understanding attachment styles and how they can influence the direction your life takes
  • Getting your needs met
  • The impact your past has on how you manage the present and the future
  • Taking responsibility for your actions and behaviours
  • Feeling more in control in your life
  • The stress of managing a big career, with a family
  • Financial hardship
  • Grief
  • Coping with guilt and shame
  • Releasing yourself from anger and hatred
  • Addiction and those living with addicts
  • Being cared for or being the carer
  • Embracing exercise to manage mental health
  • Learning to self-regulate
  • Learning to self-soothe

I work over Teams and offer the opportunity of a free 15-minute Teams session for us to get to know each other. I would like you to feel heard, understood and walked alongside, in this tough journey called life. I have an unconditionally positive approach, sometimes coaching in style, always tailored to your needs. Fundamentally, I believe in people, in listening and learning from others. I look forward to getting to know you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
