About me

I am the counselling coordinator at Bluebell wood Children's Hospice and have been for 10 years, working with adults, young people and children specializing in bereavement and loss. I have also worked at St. Johns Hospice. For 5 years I worked in children's centers and this brought a diverse client base and I was awarded Council Worker of the Year 2012 for developing a support group for parents/carers of children with learning difficulties, disabilities such as autism to terminal illnesses.

I have lectured at universities and colleges teaching counselling skills at all different levels for 7 years and it's nice to see a lot of my old students on the directory.

I also lecture to medical professionals at hospitals in Sheffield on 'People Skills' compassion and offering an empathic understanding to people/patients.

What Can I Offer You?

This is about you and I'm here to listen sensitively as we work together in a confidential setting so you feel you can talk openly and freely.

I am in private practice but want to dedicate more of my time to grow my service. My practice is in central Doncaster,  Wheatley Hills

It is important for me to offer a safe, warm and trusting, non-judgemental environment for you to come and explore your thoughts and feelings. I am a integrative counsellor which means I tailor the sessions around you.

To offer an empathic understanding is about you knowing I am on the journey with you making sense of what is happening but being guided by your direction of what is important for you to bring to the session. Self-care and self-worth are needed and I can support you in achieving this.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
