About me

I'm Aisha, a clinical psychologist and director of Illuminated Thinking. With over 17 years of experience in adult mental health, I tailor therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and Schema Therapy, to best meet your needs. Sometimes we need support to work through psychological pain, like anxiety, overwhelming emotions and trauma. Therapy can also build resilience for whatever may lie ahead. My priority is to provide a safe space for you to explore what is going on in the here-and-now, learn and move on from the past, and focus on growing into the person you want to be.

Taking the first step in reaching out can often be the most difficult. To help with this, I offer a free 10 minute appointment so we can meet and develop a plan for how to move forward. This can help you decide if we are a good fit. Please feel free to get in touch to book a no-obligation consultation.

We are a practice of psychologists who offer the latest psychological therapies. Find out more about our other specialist psychologists at www.illuminatedthinking.co.uk.

Training, qualifications & experience

I provide evidence-based therapies that are approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). I have extensive training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

My level of qualification allows me individualise therapy to meet your specific needs. I am regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the highest standard for psychological therapists in the UK.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
