Agnetha Blomberg McCormack (MBACP)
3 Old Coach Road
As a qualified and BACP registered Counsellor I work with all ages, including children and teens, and all kinds of issues, for example anxiety, abuse, depression, addiction, eating disorders, bereavement, stress, anger problems, low self-esteem, relationship problems and panic attacks. I also offer stress management if you think that would be more suitable. I offer a £5 discount on your first session for adults and constant £5 less per full hour for children and teens.
Children and teens
I provide a service for children and young people, based on counselling, meditation and mindfulness. For children it can be difficult to express their emotions as they might not have the words for them or the emotions might be too painful. With a mixture of counselling, relaxation, meditation and mindfulness, to best suit the individual, I can help them explore different ways of expressing those emotions or ways to find peace within. All in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.
Find the root of your problem
The kind of counselling that I do would be really good at helping you see what is at the root of your problem. Therapeutic Counselling is based on a mindfulness approach and it works for all different problems and for all ages. I intergrate Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Person Centred and Gestalt.
See your choices
I can help you become clearer about why your situation/issue is so difficult for you. Knowing gives a choice to do something about it and I could help you look at what you could do to feel better. If you feel stuck in a difficult situation I could help you see what you would need to do to deal with it and the process could help you feel more empowered, more in charge of your life.
The stress management I do is based on cognitive experiential wellbeing giving you something you can continue to work on and improve over time.
Spread the cost
There is not a set number of sessions you need to attend and you decide when you want to stop. It all depends on you and your needs and wishes.
You can also decide how often you want to see me. It is good to start with regular sessions, but after a while you might want to spread them to give you a chance to see how you are managing. Today's financial situation means that some clients rather see me either fortnightly or monthly than weekly, to know they can afford it. That would be for you to decide.
I have a background in working in various projects for people with all different kinds of physical disabilities, mental health problems and learning disabilities. The step towards counselling came naturally, especially when I became aware of how difficult it could be for people to access counselling.
By my name you can probably guess that I am Swedish, but I have lived in Scotland since 1997.

Other areas of counselling I deal with
The model of counselling that I use works for all different kinds of issues. It is effective in helping you to see the root of your problem. It will help you become clearer about what is happening for you in the area where you have difficulties. When you become more aware of what is happening and if you choose to I will support you at looking at what you can do to change.
For children and young people it can be very difficult to express their emotions as they might not have words to describe how they feel. Through meditation and mindfulness they will explore other ways to express who they are and develop tools to be able to deal with issues. They will also be met with a non-judgemental and supportive attitude and given opportunities to find peace and strength within.
Photos & videos
For adults £45 per hourly session but £5 off your first session. For children and young people the fee depends on the length of the session. The initial session/assessment for 45 minutes to 1 hour costs £35. For 1/2 hour meditation/mindfulness sessions £20. Sessions for couples cost £55 for one hour.
I would see you in a nice and relaxing venue at The Village Natural Health Centre in The Village in East Kilbride, on a Tuesday or a Friday. Evening appointments on a Tuesday are also available. There is free parking nearby, but the venue is also very close to the train station and near the town centre and bus station.
