About me
My approach
I am trained in Integrative Counselling. This means that I have undertaken training in a number of Counselling and Psychotherapy practices and am able to adapt my approach and style to meet the needs of each individual client.
I believe that everyone is individual and unique and therefore the therapeutic approach that will best suit them will also be unique. I work in a person centred way, holistically looking at the person before me and exploring with them what they need.
Some therapies are client led and some are more counsellor led. Some approaches are more suited to short term therapy and others for longer work. Together we will explore and agree on an approach that feels right for you.
Therapy practices that I can draw upon in our sessions include:
- Person Centred Therapy (PCT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy/Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CBT/CAT)
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Mindfulness and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
- Gestalt Therapy
- Somatic Experiencing (SE)
I can offer both short term and long term therapy, depending on your preferences.
I work with both adults and children and young people (age 6+) on a 1:1 basis. I have particular experience in supporting children, young people and adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities or difficulties and those who are neuro-diverse, such as those with ADHD or ASC.
Therapy sessions are usually 50 minutes in length and held weekly, at the same day and time to support consistency. However, I aim to be flexible and appreciate that for some people fortnightly sessions or varying the days (due to shift work) might be necessary.
I offer both Face to Face and Online (via Google Meet) sessions.
Face to Face sessions are currently held within Sidcup Space (on Hatherly Road, just off Sidcup High Street) or within Avenues Wellbeing Step by Step (Bexleyheath, on Broadway).
Online sessions are offered Monday to Friday.
I offer a free, no obligation, 20 minute phone or video call and suggest that we do this initially, to provide an opportunity for you to explore whether you would like to work with me and what support I can offer. This also provides time for you to ask any questions you may have.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have supported children, young people and adults for over 25 years and find supporting others incredibly rewarding. I work with both adults and children and young people (age 11+) on a 1:1 basis. I have particular experience in supporting children, young people and adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities or difficulties and those who are neuro-diverse, such as those with ADHD or ASC.
I have a BSC Hons in Psychology & Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I also have an Enhanced DBS.
I am an Accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and an Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that I have met or exceeded the requirements stipulated by these organisations, agree to work to their ethical frameworks and to take the steps needed to ensure that the therapy I offer is safe and of good quality.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

How counselling can help
People come to therapy for many different reasons.
Some have specific moments or life events that they wish to discuss in a safe and open space where they can express their feelings fully with someone who is neutral and non-judgemental.
Some people are seeking support with issues that are impacting upon their daily lives, such as anxiety, PTSD, OCD, stress/feeling overwhelmed or feelings of low mood or depression.
Others may not be sure exactly why they are coming, but they want to speak to someone in order to make sense of their thoughts, offload or clear their mind.
Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, I aim to provide a safe, confidential space to explore what you are bringing and where appropriate provide some guidance, tools or strategies that may help.
