About me

I will create a warm, safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore the issues you want to address.  I am able to provide counselling and hypnotherapy services separately, or combined, to suit your needs.

What can I help with?
There are many things therapy can help with.  You may be feeling anxious or stressed in your everyday life.   You may feel your anxiety is growing, getting worse and gradually taking control of your life, limiting you and preventing you doing the things you want to do.

In today's society many of us experience depression - this may be associated with your situation or due to medical issues.  Therapy is a non-judgemental, nurturing space where you can explore this.

Many clients experience low confidence and self-esteem and may not understand why they feel this way, or they may be experiencing issues within their relationship and want someone neutral to talk things through with, so they can make the right decision moving forward.

Therapy can help with many emotionally challenging situations.  Sometimes these feelings are as a result of things that happened in the past.  These issues may be affecting you achieving your goals and you may be frustrated at trying, but not getting anywhere.

How does therapy work?
I will provide a flexible and tailored intervention that meets your needs.  I am able to use a combined approach to help you get the best results.  This will include a Person Centred Approach to create a warm and trusting space.  This is the foundation of our therapeutic relationship and will ensure you are at the centre of our sessions.

A Psychodynamic Approach will help you explore your past and discover how the things that happened then, affect you now.  Lots of why we act or think in certain ways are as a result of our past and by exploring and working through these, things can improve.

By using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), I can help you explore unhelpful negative thoughts or behaviours.  This will enable you to challenge and change these negative processes and help you move forward in a more positive way.

Hypnotherapy can be provided as a separate intervention, or combined within our counselling sessions.  This is very effective for managing anxiety, losing weight, improving confidence and many more things.  By using deep relaxation and visualization, great things can be achieved.

My aim is to provide that comfy space, where you feel safe to explore your issues.   Empathy, respect and a space free from judgement will help you feel at the centre of your sessions, and able to unpick those issues, thrive and achieve your goals.

You will be able to access your sessions from the comfort of your own home, via an online platform (of your choice).  No stress waiting in traffic or worrying about parking, therapy is accessible by the click of a button.  This makes therapy accessible within the UK and beyond.

I am passionate about helping you and feel privileged to be able to do so.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I am able to provide an integrated approach to counselling using Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Approaches within my practice. This ensures you, as the client, is at the centre of our work together and your sessions are tailored to your needs.

I am able to work with clients who have experienced trauma having completed further training on Trauma Informed Practice.

I am a qualified Hypnotherapist. This enables me to use hypnotherapy to support clients, where appropriate. Hypnotherapy is particularly useful when working with symptoms of anxiety and is very effective in managing and reducing the physical presentation through the use of positive visualization and other techniques.

To ensure I develop and keep up with the latest theory and skills, I have completed additional training and hold a wide range of CPD Certificates. These include:

  • Managing Anxiety and Stress
  • Certificate in Hypno Gastric Band
  • Certificate in Weight Management
  • Certificate in HypnoBirthing and Pregnancy
  • Certificate in Smoking Cessation
  • Certificate in Managing Chronic Stress
  • Working with the Inner Child

I have come to counselling and hypnotherapy later in my career, following more than 20 years of working with children and families within the community. This gave me a passion for this area of work, one which I followed to become a qualified practitioner.
