About me

Any area:   *** Pamela is based in Nottinghamshire.  However, she provides confidential online and phone talking therapy sessions throughout the United Kingdom. ***

Introduction:
If counselling is new to you and even if you have had counselling in the past, it can be a daunting experience choosing the right counsellor or therapist.  You want to feel reassured that you have found the right person who can help you understand and explore difficult moments in your life with their expertise, and a non-judgemental approach.  With this in mind, Pamela understands that each client's requirements are different, and it is this difference that is taken into consideration each time with empathy, compassion and care.

About:
As a qualified person-centred and therapeutic counsellor, Pamela has years of experience working in healthcare with Adults and Young People (YP). She offers bespoke therapeutic counselling services for each client, understanding what matters most to you, and what you feel comfortable exploring at your pace.    There is no pressure.    You can take your time, at your pace, to understand what you are experiencing.

Each session is focused on you, your needs, and you guide your journey of self-discovery to empower    your resilience and awareness of self   to facilitate change.

Whether you are suffering from anxiety, depression, panic attacks, sleep problems, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, chronic pain, stress, anticipatory death/grief, relationship difficulties, or bereavement, and you experience uncomfortable feelings, and emotions that you do not understand, Pamela can support you to explore these difficulties you are experiencing in your life.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
