About me
Hi. My name is Oliver and I work as a counsellor for adults, children, teenagers and couples. I offer face-to-face and online sessions. I also have many years of experience working with people with neurodiversity, such as ADHD and Autism.
Maybe you or your child are experiencing intense anxiety or your emotions feel too much to handle. Perhaps you are struggling with depression, feel lost or stuck, or you are having problems with your personal relationships. Are you neurodiverse and dealing with the challenges that might bring? Do you and your partner need help in how you communicate and how to reconnect?
I offer a safe and confidential space for adults, young people and couples to explore their issues. Sometimes we just need someone to listen to us and to help us develop new perspectives on life’s many challenges. Therapy can also help us to look at ourselves in new ways and to investigate how our ways of dealing with life, and other people in our lives, might be holding us back or causing us pain.
I can also help you to develop a greater understanding of your own anxiety, to look at what's triggering it, how anxiety works in your body and mind, and to share with you some simple, but very effective techniques for overcoming it.
With children and young people I have worked in several primary and secondary schools across the area, as well as working for the charity The Matthew Hackney Foundation which provides free counselling in schools and low cost counselling outside of school hours. I have worked with a wide range of issues, from ADHD and Autism, to trauma, self-esteem and anxiety.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BACP registered counsellor with a Diploma in Person-centred and Existential Counselling. As well as working privately with adults, teenagers and younger children, I also work in a local primary school. I have extensive experience working with the charity The Counselling Partnership in Walton and also The Matthew Hackney Foundation which sends counsellors into local primary and secondary schools.
I work with a variety of issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, anger, identity, social problems, life changes and problems with relationships. I also work with adults or young people with ADHD or autism.
Before becoming a counsellor I worked as a teacher for 15 years.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
