About me

Hey, thanks for landing on my profile. I’m Neil and I am an experienced BACP accredited psychotherapist, working with an eclectic mix of people & their difficulties. I have had the privilege to develop relationships and work with people who experience difficulties with low mood, anxiety, young people, LGBTQIA+ communities. I also provide personal therapy & clinical supervision.

You can find out more information, including client testimonials, by visiting my page: https://infocounsellingnei.wixsite.com/mysite

Right now I have availability to arrange a free 1-hour consultation. This gives us both the chance to meet, discuss your needs and preferred appointment time. The meeting also provides us both an opportunity to understand if we are compatible. I find this is a popular option with clients who value their autonomy to decide which psychotherapist to engage with.

Please let me know if you might like to connect using the contact information provided. I do aim to respond as soon as possible. I do work an evening practice so I may respond outside of usual business hours.

I look forward to meeting you.

Client feedback....

Having someone to talk to who listens without judgement was helpful. Also the fact that Neil was very respectful and made me feel safe. H.L

What I found most useful was how Neil boosted my confidence by miles. I have become a much more resilient person following our sessions. J.B

"Counselling has been useful to help me navigate and observe my own mind to prevent escalation and regulate. Neil has helped through supplying tools and strategies, through guided sessions. These sessions have helped me become more proactive and independent with my feelings, and this in turn, has had less of an effect on my day-to-day life, as I can manage my emotions and actions more effectively. I have progressed a lot over 8 months and would like to highlight this has also been a credit to Neil, including the trusting relationship we built over these months" K.M

“Neil helped me to better understand my thoughts and feelings, and where they come from. He took me back to look at things in more depth than I ever had before. I’m so proud of the work he and I did together; and so grateful to him for supporting me on that journey, for keeping me safe, and for guiding me to being my most authentic and strongest self.”

"Neil has been treating my son in his private practice over the summer. In spite of four failed attempts at therapy, Neil developed a professional relationship with him and engaged him in a way that was unexpected. It is something I honestly thought would never happen.  His interpersonal skills are exceptional. As a family, he has provided support at a time when we were most vulnerable. Neil was able to engage him in therapy in an uncanny manner. The impact he has had on him has been incredible and positive.  He is incredibly welcoming and makes anyone who accesses his service feel comfortable.. In addition to being compassionate, he was able to establish a professional relationship.  Having such a positive impact on my son is incredible and we are extremely grateful for it. We highly recommend Neil as he is a warm, welcoming, and compassionate therapist.

I would like to thank you for having such a positive impact on my son. It is impossible for you to understand how much you have helped us all and how much this means to him". E.L

"I just wanted to pass on my appreciation to Neil Evans who I have been working with for a while now. He is an excellent asset to your profession and is helping me through what is the most difficult part of my life. His manner makes me comfortable to share my feelings which doesn't come easy for me. Without his help I really don't know what I would have done" P.F

"Neil always was helpful and knew what to say and was good to get things off my chest when I was feeling stressed and lonelyE.P

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
