About me

Hello, my name is Mia and I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, offering short term and long term counselling in-person and online. I work with individuals and couples.

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. In your life you may experience many issues and symptoms, such as panic attacks, feeling anxious or overwhelmed, depression and  low mood, lack of motivation and low self esteem. It may be a relationship that's failing or that you are recognising the same old themes playing themselves out in your life.

I understand starting therapy can feel daunting and my aim is to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where your needs can be heard, respected and above all understood.

During our sessions, you will have the opportunity to explore your past, present and or any fears you have about your future. I use a client - led approach to counselling, meaning that I see you as a expert of your life, story and emotions. My aim is to help you achieve a higher level of self- awareness and work trough any difficulties you may be facing.

To get started, phone or email me to set up an initial free 15 minute consultation to discuss how I can help you and what you would like to get out of counselling.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified therapist and a registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) adhering to their ethnical guidelines.

In addition to my private practice, I  have extensive experience working with a variety of clients in NHS IAPT / Talking Therapy,  GP's surgeries and low-cost counselling service organisations.

Prior to training as a Therapist, I worked in Business,Finance and Human Resources. Working in corporate world, I gained extensive experience and understanding of pressure that fast paced high- stressed environment can have on individual's wellbeing leading to burnout and stress.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
