About me

Welcome to My Counselling Page

Hello, I’m Laura, a relational and integrative counsellor with a passion for supporting individuals, couples, children, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to explore what’s going on for you and move towards healing and growth.

I can work with

Children & Young People (Ages 8+)

I offer both play therapy and talking therapy for children and teenagers, supporting them with emotional, behavioural, and relational difficulties in a developmentally appropriate and gentle way.

Specialist Couples Therapy

My couples sessions provide a safe, balanced space for both partners to explore relationship difficulties. Together, we work on improving communication, understanding patterns, rebuilding connection, and navigating challenges with greater awareness and empathy.

Individual Therapy

I support adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-worth, trauma, and emotional overwhelm. I have a particular interest in inner child work and childhood trauma recovery, helping clients understand how early experiences continue to shape present-day thoughts, feelings, and relationships.

EMDR Trauma Therapy

I am qualified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy recommended for trauma and PTSD. EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing or traumatic memories that may feel “stuck,” reducing their emotional intensity and impact on daily life. Many clients find EMDR helpful for trauma, childhood experiences, abuse, accidents, and other overwhelming life events, especially when talking alone feels too difficult.

My Approach

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor my work to meet your individual needs. My relational approach focuses on helping you understand the relationships you have with yourself and others, and how these influence your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

Together, we explore how past and present experiences may be affecting you today, supporting you to develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and healthier ways of relating.

If you have any questions or would like to book a session, please feel free to get in touch. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
