About me

I'm Lana, a qualified counsellor experienced in supporting young people and adults. I am a person centred counsellor with an integrative approach meaning I am able to draw from many different counselling styles and tailor sessions to suit the needs of the individual.

The most important thing about our sessions is that I am here to listen to you, in a safe and non-judgemental environment. It can be difficult to know where to start when you have a lot of feelings to process, together we can take our time to work through these at your own pace.

Our sessions focus on the issues that you feel are the most important to explore, sometimes we are unsure why we feel the way we do, together we will take our time to talk about anything that is on your mind.

I can work both short term and long term depending on your needs, this is something that we can decide together. I know that it can be daunting to take the first step and to find a counsellor who feels right for you, I am always happy to discuss any questions you may have.

If you’d like to ask any questions or to arrange a phone call please text me on 07859 913275. You can also email me here and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Training, qualifications & experience

After working in education and child care for six years, I decided that I wanted to support young people with their emotional needs through counselling. I then studied to gain my diploma in counselling and psychotherapy.

During this time I volunteered for Cruse Bereavement care, supporting adults and children who had experienced the death of a loved one.

I then went on to do my Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Children and Young people.

Since then, I have worked for school based counselling services in the Cardiff and Torfaen areas. I have 7 years of experience as a counsellor in secondary schools, supporting young people aged 11 onwards with a wide range of issues including anxiety, family issues, self-harm, low self-esteem and many more.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
