Kay Luck BA (hons) post grad DipSW MA Psychotherapy adult, child, supervisor.
Welcome and thank you for reading a little about me. I hope to be able to assist with whatever is troubling you at this time. You may wish to unravel a knot, or you may have some things that have been bothering you for a long time. The pandemic conditions may be heightening a sense of isolation, past trauma or panic.
Simply email, text or call to arrange a welcoming initial assessment hour to explore what you may wish to get out of therapy at this time and to ask any questions about my training and background. The one hour fee for this reflects the time and skill offered to explore your story, attachment history, current difficulties and ideas that I may have about how to help you.
During the pandemic I offer to work by skype, zoom, telephone landline, mobile telephone, or WhatsApp. Sometimes email or live text are a preferred option. I work online routinely with people from other countries, and people who are unable to travel for example with fibromyalgia or high anxiety.
Experienced, highly qualified, ethical, insured and supervised integrative psychotherapist. Over thirty years of working therapeutically with people who are impacted by a range of emotional and mental health issues.
NHS and social care specialist with extensive mental health knowledge and skills. Fully trained in more than one modality which enhances an integrative approach embracing neuroscience, attachment theory, mindfulness, psychodynamic and cognitive approaches for your journey towards living more fully.
I have a special interest in working with complex trauma, complex ptsd and dissociation. I have undertaken extensive additional training with the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation, and with Women’s Rape crisis and sexual abuse to enhance a specialist psychotherapy programme for three phase unfolding of depth trauma work. I work with people who have experienced ritual abuse, neglect and other forms of childhood abuse that have manifested in survival strategies such as dissociation and parts or alters that are split off from the system. I am curious about the links between trauma, the immune system, autonomic nervous system and chronic pain, fibromyalgia, CFS and the cross over with ME.
More recently I qualified as a child psychotherapist with UKCP to provide a service to women who are experiencing depression and anxiety during their pregnancy and with a new born. I enjoy supporting women to understand their trauma journey before birth so that attachment can be less burdened with ghosts in the nursery. I work as a parent infant therapist with parents and new born babies in arms until they are able to walk. Becoming child qualified has of course assisted with creative approaches to working with young parts or alters, and grown ups too who may wish to explore sand tray, making things or drawing monsters!
Qualified to work with adults, children and couples.
