About me
I have 10 years experience as a counsellor working with adults and young people for charities, in local primary and secondary schools and in private practice. I have worked with ages 6+ and hold a Post Qualifying Diploma in working with children and adolescents. I am an authentic, genuine, understanding person with a passion for helping people to be their best self.
Adults - we can working with your inner child, childhood trauma, and facilitate processing difficult events and messages given throughout your life - helping to break generational curses and understanding the link these have to holding you back from your potential. I have a particular interest and experience in working with ADHD diagnosis in adult life. Using a blend of counselling, CBT and coaching to help you through the challenges this can bring to managing day-to-day life.
My passion is helping you to break free from whatever is holding you back, joining the dots to help you make sense of thoughts & behaviours and recognise patterns to help you break cycles and rid your life of repeating situations that are affecting your mental health.
Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, stress or other symptoms, our work together can help you move forward in your life, gain an understanding of yourself and those around you. Being able to facilitate a reduction in your anxiety / depression and start to break free of what has been holding you back.
Children - I have a specialist qualification and 12 years experience in working with children & young people. I worked with school based anxieties, childhood illness & disabilities, parental relationship breakdowns & ADHD. I have a lot of passion for working with teenage girls and young adults with ADHD traits, mentoring and helping them manage and cope - whether diagnosed or undiagnosed.
I have extensive personal and professional experience working with childhood chronic illnesses/disabilities, hidden disabilities and with young carers.
Imposter Syndrome, anxiety, depression, Self-Belief and Self-Esteem are areas I have an interest in. I have undertaken a number of CPD courses in mentoring, life coaching, managing imposter syndrome, managing manipulative people and solution focussed goal orientated counselling to help you move forward to where you want to be.
I am also incredibly passionate about working with parents struggling to manage relationships with their children, whatever their age. I draw from a number of parenting experts and work intuitively to be able to deliver tailored support for those finding they maybe stuck with parenting or helping their children develop good emotional literacy.
I offer Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) as well as person centred talking therapy and solution focussed counselling. My therapy toolkit also includes Transactional Analysis, NLP, EFT and various other theories which I draw from to help you reach your goal.
Before training as a counsellor I spent 15 years working in the media all around the UK.
I am also a spiritual person and can use my intuitive nature in counselling sessions if invited.
My aim is to provide clients with a comfortable, confidential, homely environment where you feel at ease to talk freely. My therapy rooms in Ringwood are based in a peaceful location, with onsite free parking, toilet facilities and a level access building, with access to fields for 'Walk and Talk' and nature therapy should you wish to step outside during the session. My Christchurch/Highcliffe sessions are delivered between a couple of sites, please contact for more information.
