About me
Adults - Ringwood office, Monday and Wednesday 9-3pm. ONLINE - Monday & Wednesday Evening 4- 7PM **
Children and Teenagers - Unfortunately I am not currently taking on children and young people for the foreseeable future.
I have over 13 years experience as a counsellor working with adults, children and young people. I have worked for charities, in local primary and secondary schools and in private practice both online and face to face. I also supervise other therapists and helping professionals.
I am an authentic, genuine, intuitive, understanding, compassionate person with a passion for helping people to be their best self.
Adults - we can work with your inner child, childhood trauma, and facilitate processing difficult events and messages given throughout your life - helping to break generational curses and understanding the link these have to holding you back from your potential to live a more peaceful, more content life. I am Kink Aware, Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity affirming.
I have personal and professional experience in working with AuDHD/ADHD diagnosis in adult life and a specialist interest in working with Rejection Sensitivity Disorder (RSD). I have recently completed a course by Samantha Hiew in Autism and ADHD in Women: DSM-5 Criteria via Scientific & Intersectional Lens, to become a Certified AuDHD Intersectional Scientific Practitioner and Coach. This training also covered helping to understand the female menstrual cycle and the affects on neurodiversity. This includes ADHD medication and how hormones affect medication.
Using a blend of Person Centred Counselling, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems/Parts work, Coaching and other theories, to help you through the challenges of managing day-to-day life.
My passion is helping you break free from whatever is holding you back, joining the dots to help you make sense of your thoughts & behaviours, recognise patterns to help you break cycles. I am also passionate about helping you to understand the behaviours of those around you, which can help you navigate tricky relationships, whether romantic, work, friends or family.
We can work on bringing into awareness repeating situations that are affecting your mental health. In turn, helping you to feel emotionally lighter, more in control, less lonely and with a better sense of purpose and direction in life.
Whether you’re managing anxiety, repetitive behaviours, depression, stress, feeling stuck / burnt out, lacking direction, lonely, feeling confused, frustrated or other symptoms, our work together can help you move forward in your life, gain an understanding of yourself and those around you. Being able to facilitate a reduction in your anxiety / depression and start to break free of whatever has been holding you back.
Children - I have a specialist qualification and over 15 years experience working with children & young people. I have worked with school based anxieties, SEN, childhood illness & disabilities, parental relationship breakdowns, bullying, low self-esteem, friendship difficulties & ADHD. I have a passion for working with teenage girls and young adults with ADHD/AUDHD traits, mentoring and helping them manage and cope - diagnosed or undiagnosed.
I have extensive personal and professional experience working with chronic illnesses/disabilities, hidden disabilities that may have started in childhood and working with young carers.
Imposter Syndrome, anxiety, depression, self-belief and self-esteem are areas I have an interest in.
I have undertaken a number of CPD courses in mentoring, life coaching, managing imposter syndrome, managing controlling and manipulative people and solution focussed goal orientated counselling to help you move forward to where you want to be. I can help with re-writing negative messages given to you in childhood which have affected how you have lived your life and facilitate space for you to break free from a mindset that has prevented you getting to where you want to go.
Working with parents:
My experience working with young people has lead me to offer support for parents. If you are a parent struggling to manage relationships with your children, whatever their age. I draw from a number of parenting experts and work intuitively to be able to deliver tailored support for those finding they maybe stuck with parenting or helping their children develop good emotional literacy. Whether it's family life, teenage years, SEN, EBSA, school worries; I have 15 years of insight into working with 100's of teenagers.
I offer Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) as well as person centred talking therapy and solution focussed counselling. My therapy toolkit also includes Transactional Analysis, Internal family systems (IFS) parts work, NLP, EFT and various other theories which I draw from to help you reach your goal.
Before training as a counsellor I spent 15 years working in the media all around the UK.
I am also a spiritual person and can use my intuitive nature in counselling sessions if you wish.
My aim is to provide clients with a comfortable, compassionate, confidential, environment where you feel at ease to talk freely and explore your innermost thoughts free of fear of judgement.
I offer a free initial 15 minute call, send me a message and we can get this arranged.
