My aim is to build a trusting and empathic relationship with my clients.  Our lives can become stressful and overwhelming at times.  Life can become too much and it can seem impossible to find peace and balance.  You may have difficult feelings or past hurts that are stopping you from moving forward so you are stuck.  It can be helpful to talk to a person that is not directly involved so that you can gain more insight and clarity.  

Do you feel anxious, worry excessively or put everyone else first before your own needs?  Would you like to find calmness?  Counselling can assist you in this journey. 

How do I work?

I offer a safe place to work through your feelings that are stopping you live a fulfilling life.  By exploring your thoughts and feelings I can help you understand yourself which can assist you taking more control going forward.

My approach is from various talking therapies so that I can tailor the way I work with you and your individual concerns.  I offer one to one Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling operating within the National Counselling Society Framework for good practice. 

I provide a secure, safe and confidential setting where personal problems, thoughts and feelings can be explored.  I will listen with empathy, understanding and acceptance from a non-judgemental place to help you explore whatever is concerning you. 

I will through your concerns and help you to find your best way of working through these.  The counselling may be short and goal focussed or open ended.

Initially, we would have a chat on the telephone so that I can understand briefly what brings you to counselling.  The first session further discusses your requirements.  This does not commit you to more sessions unless you want to.  Sessions are normally weekly, lasting for 50 minutes. 

I am a member of the National Counselling Society (NCS) and fully insured.  

I am trained in different counselling theories and approaches so that I can work in the best way that is individually right for you. 

Free initial 20 minutes telephone session.

Fees are on sliding scale depending on circumstances.  This will be between £40 to £50 and discussed prior to the initial session.  Discounts available for frontline NHS workers, key workers and trainee counsellors.
