About me

Hi I'm Jamie and I am an integrative counsellor and mentor, my focus is on the mental well-being of both adults and young people, with a specialisation in supporting people with mental health/ confidence & self esteem concerns. I tailor my methods to meet the unique needs of each client, I see everyone as an individual and will never compare you to somebody else.

My background includes a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling as well as working in education for over ten tears with SEN experience, providing a solid foundation for my counselling practice. However, my commitment doesn't just stop there, I personally understand the transformative benefits of counselling.

A BACP registered Counsellor, I am an integrative therapist working under the ethical framework of the BACP. I’m a firm believer that everyone can benefit from counselling.

I create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment through a range of therapeutic interventions. What may feel daunting or overwhelming, my aim is to support you in untangling things at your pace and comfort. The process has no time limit and will take as long as it needs to, people often wonder who counselling is for and sometimes are fearful of reaching out. I do honestly believe everyone can benefit from counselling and I have seen second hand the benefits and reassurance of speaking with a professional. I see client's face-to-face for appointments, I also offer online sessions or can offer sessions by telephone.

I also offer Sports Mentoring sessions - Having played sports for a number of years to a good level and being in around sport teams of many different disciplines, I am linked with professionals with access to gyms/ personal trainers and physios to name a few. I see second hand the importance of having a wide network in who can support you with the goals and aims you may have after working with myself. I am someone who has been through the highs and lows of sport and always found the missing link to be someone to just talk to when things were not going my way. I can work with you to create smart goals which can support you to regain that passion and confidence that you may have lost. The aim is to get you heading back in the right direction or to slow things down and evaluate where you currently are.

You may have a goal in mind. Or you might just want to breathe easier and feel mentally stronger. Whatever your reason for seeking counselling or mentoring, the next step in your journey is to get in touch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
