About me

Do you feel lost and disconnected from yourself and people around you and you do not know why? Have you lost a sense of purpose or hope, and feel you are lacking control over your own life? Are you repeating the same patterns in your life and find it difficult to change them? The idea of therapy can be daunting, and it can be scary to open up to someone, but you made the first step. I am here to work together with you. I provide a safe and non judgemental space offering empathy, creativity, integrity and compassion.

I will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others.  I will listen to you without judgment and help you explore your thoughts and emotions.

I will meet you where you are at, being aware and sensitive of the cultural and social context and complexities where you come from and tailor our sessions to your needs. I provide a confidential, consistent and reliable service to individuals with a wide range of different difficulties, including anxiety, depression, self-harm, sexual abuse, trauma and PTSD, identity and gender difficulties, suicide ideation, bereavement, relationship difficulties, stress, chronic illness, and neurodiversity.

My approach is integrative, and I use different theories of psychotherapy in my work. In support of our sessions, I use various creative mediums in order to help clients access feelings that are difficult to express verbally.

I strongly believe that our personal history shapes the way we are now in the present. Therapy can be a tool to understand more about yourself, and how your own personal history impacts your present. Therapy will help you to cope and make sense of what has happened to you, to not make your past influence negatively your present, to move forward and create a different narrative. Therapy is a courageous but worthwhile step towards living the life that you want to.

Since 2013, I have been working with children, young people, adults and families. I believe that the relationship between us will be an important factor for change. For this reason, I will go at your pace: I will give you time to feel comfortable with me, you will never be forced to share more than you feel comfortable sharing, and certainly not before a degree of trust between us is in place.

I will create the conditions for you to feel safe and able to take risks by disclosing and discussing sensitive issues. That includes being able to give me honest feedback on how you feel about your therapy and how we are working together.

I am a Chartered psychologist (Divisions of Counselling, Clinical and Educational Psychology), a counsellor and a trainee psychotherapist (final stage). Being aware of the importance of the system where each individual lives and the mutual influence between individual and systems (family, school, society, etc.), I am currently undertaking an additional training in Systemic Family Therapy. I am passionate about the fields of psychology and psychotherapy, and have studied for many years in order to increase my knowledge and expertise.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
