H. Phillips Counselling

I am an accredited counsellor and integrative psychotherapist, dedicated to working holistically with my clients whenever possible. This means that I consider the whole person, not solely their mental health. My approach encompasses the physical, emotional, social, mental, and spiritual aspects of wellbeing, with the aim of helping clients achieve a more balanced life.

By using an integrative approach, I am able to explore the unique needs of each client through a blend of counselling methods. This enables me to tailor my support according to the specific issues a client presents, empowering them to gain a healthy balance and a deeper understanding of themselves.

My practice welcomes a wide range of clients, including children, young people, and adults, across various issues. I am proud to support individuals through their personal journeys, placing great value on the development of a trusting therapeutic relationship.

I provide a professional and confidential service in a safe environment, whether one-to-one, online, or by telephone. All sessions are conducted by appointment, and bookings can be made online.

In counselling, no concern is too big or too small. If something is troubling you, it is perfectly okay to bring it to therapy and talk about it. Taking the first step can feel daunting and is often the most challenging part of the counselling journey, even for those returning to therapy.

Counselling is a talking therapy where you are free to express yourself and be truly heard. Finding a counsellor with whom you feel comfortable is essential for the therapeutic process.

If you need someone to talk to, or if you feel overwhelmed and uncertain about where to start, now is the time to put yourself first and seek support.

Recognising the importance of your own well-being is essential. Prioritising yourself is not an act of selfishness, but a necessary step toward achieving balance and healing. Reaching out for support when you feel overwhelmed or unsure is a sign of strength, and investing in your own care allows you to take the first step towards positive change.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
