About me

Struggling with any of the following? Anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, relationship/family issues, low self-esteem, social anxiety, ADHD? Feeling different or sensitive, like the world just doesn’t understand you?

HOW I WORK

Counselling with me is a bit like going for a hike together. We’ll start slow; I’ll walk to your pace.  We’ll look back from where you’ve come from – family, upbringing, childhood. As we progress upwards there will be moments when we stop to catch our breath and be present with how you feel. You might be convinced you have barely moved at all. I’ll be there to remind you of your progress, my faith in you as well as offer insights and manageable steps to help you navigate the trail. You won’t ever feel alone in your journey. Together, we will reach the top – where I wave you off with a smile.

My clients describe me as a warm, gentle and a humorous counsellor. The ‘Miss Honey’ of Counsellors! I give positive encouragement and am a patient, empathic listener. I know when to be serious and when there is room for humour – to make your therapy experience something to look forward to even when the journey may feel difficult.

I’m passionate in making my therapy attainable for all so we won’t just be talking. Depending on how you learn best I have plenty of tools for you to try – guided meditations, mood cards, worksheets, writing, art.. as well as looking at the overall picture: diet, sleep, exercise and social connections.

Still not sure?

That’s okay! I appreciate it’s a lot to take in. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a ring or drop me an email. (There are no stupid questions!) If I’m not right for you, I know many Counsellors who'd be more than happy to help you – all you need to do now is press a button. I'm so looking forward to meeting you. :)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
