About me

I help adults and teens struggling with (but not limited to): loss/grief, divorce, family issues, relationship issues (individuals), low self-esteem, people-pleasing, social anxiety, as well as feeling different and overwhelmed with life.

My Story:

I know first-hand the difficulties in finding your place in a new blended-family dynamic whilst juggling the loss of the life you once had.

When I was 13, my parents divorced and my mother remarried. I faced depression and anxiety throughout the years as I struggled to adapt to my new way of life. It was through counselling that I received the help I needed to move forward. From there, it felt like a natural next step to train to become a Counsellor myself.

I am beyond passionate in helping others break free from the low-mood that binds them. Read on to find out how I can help you.

Adults:

Maybe you are divorced and now alone for the first time with friends and family pushing you to move on but you aren’t ready, or maybe you are but you can’t get a relationship to stick? Or you’ve found a partner but things don’t seem to be coming together like it should?

Multiple feelings demanding your attention? Feeling like a failure as partner or a parent? Struggling with social anxiety or setting boundaries? Does it all feel like too much? I see you; I hear you. You don’t have to figure this out on your own. I'll be with you every step of the way, as you decide what to let go and and what to take with you in your new, happier life. I'll help you change your mindset, be in control of your feelings and responses, and give you the tools you need to love yourself and the life you lead.

Teenagers:

Have you noticed your teen acting differently? Or maybe you suspect they’re keeping their true feelings hidden from you? Do they seem withdrawn? Emotional? Do they have behavioural issues? Struggling in school and/or social life?

Are you on the fence because you fear your child will hate you for “forcing” them into counselling?

All are valid concerns. It’s a difficult thing to see your child in pain, let’s change that. I became the counsellor that I needed when I was young – compassionate and patient. With strong focus on being a safe and reliable adult to install trust in adults/parents again (if it’s been lost). I am on your child’s side from day one, and I can help them reconnect with themselves so they feel confident in who they are, happy within their family and open to the world around them. Your child is entitled to confidentiality but I won’t go against your parenting style – we will work together as a team!

How I Work:

We’ll look at the past and how it continues to have a voice in the present, we’ll hold space for the neglected/demanding emotions, all whilst providing you/your child with a toolkit of coping strategies to access any time outside of the therapy room. I give the occasional homework and offer practical exercises in session should you not find the words (emotion cards, guided mindful meditations etc).

We will also process the overall picture: diet, sleep, exercise and emotional connection. Most of all, I will be warm, kind and supportive – so no matter what monsters appear in your story, you know you are safe with me. There is also space for humour in our space, when appropriate - let's laugh!

Together, we will dismantle your fears and when you’re ready to move on to your next chapter, we’ll begin planning on what needs to be done to create your desired outcome.

Still on the fence? That’s okay! I appreciate it’s a lot to take in. If you have any hesitations, concerns or questions please feel free to give me a ring or drop me an email and I’ll be happy to answer them. (There are no stupid questions!) If I’m not right for you, I know many counsellors who would be happy to help you – your journey starts today, all you need to do now is press a button. I'm so looking forward to meeting you. :)

It all starts just with one click. I’m so looking forward to be hearing from you. :)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
